ISLAND ALL IN MY HEAD

‘All In My Head’ is the second installment from ISLAND’s forthcoming EP, following from ‘Just That Time Of Night’ which we described as “a sonic slow-dance, that weary beer-soaked sway as you begin to question reality and your life thus far.” Previous listeners won’t be disappointed by the band’s latest offering, which dives almost immediately into a sparkling guitar melody and rolling drums, which is then joined by Rollo Doherty’s questioning vocal. The track sounds somewhere caught between frustration and curiosity – “was it all in my head?” repeatedly asks Doherty. Speaking about the track, the frontman shares: "It’s weird, we didn’t really understand the song when we started writing it but we liked that about it, we didn’t try to understand it. The lyrics just take that idea and put it through a blender. Weirdness just mixed up with more weirdness. Just like what's in my head." ‘All In My Head’ is another solid indie track, well balanced, controlled, but somehow still conveying ISLAND’s unique perspective on the genre and life as a whole. - Hannah Thacker
